I believe that moving is always a chance to start over. It doesn’t have to mean that you are leaving your past behind and trying to forget it. It means that you can use the new setting to take your life to the next level. Being originally from Ukraine, and living in Chicago since 2007, I still had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I have always been inspired by my surroundings and felt like I am pretty creative, but getting caught up in the routinely cycle and being great at procrastinating prevented me from getting the ideas out. And I have a lot. Too many for one brain… Ever since I was small, my parents have cultivated the drawing talents in me. They thought that I was really good at it. I was only five years old. Realistically, how good can a five-year-old be? Yup. I have been trying to find myself – in writing, fashion, advertising, business, etc. Everything, but art. However, art has always chased me. When I moved to the United States, I was fortunate to have great art classes. I was almost speech impaired, since my first language is Russian, I had no way of getting my thoughts or feelings out. I had no other choice but draw. Recently, I was given an opportunity to move to the beautiful state of California. I decided to take this event as a challenge. Instead of putting my thoughts aside for later I’m going to move it to the foreground. After all, since many thought I was weird for being creative, why not live up to it? Sometime ago, during millions of hours of browsing the Internet I came across a quote “Earth without Art is just ‘Eh.’” I think that art is everywhere and everyone has a creative side. I want to share my creative side with you.
